School Exam - CAD car design project

Hello,

I'm prepraring myself for a school exam I'm going to take for Arts the beginning of next year. Since I'm interested in car design, I've been given the task to pass through the design process of a car and make a big documentation out of it.

One part would be to model the car virtually. Since I have only used Blender so far and I've never been able to finish a project, I could be considered as a beginner. The aim of the project is to learn something, so this shouldn't make a problem out of it.

Now my question is: which kind of software would you use to create a realistic car that could be used to create a scale model and for animations? If this software should be expensive, do you think it might pay out to ask the producer (e.g. Autodesk) for a licensed version during the exam period while putting some advertisement into the documentation?

One important thing is that I need a tutorial that goes from 0 and ends with the accomplishment of the project. Do you know any good sources for this?

I really intend to work hard on this project, so please give me some advice, and if you know someone that might help me with my issue, please tell me.

Thank you very much in advance,
greetings from Germany,
pgpg
