yes yes, i know tht this is a month old but this helped me soo much i just had to post my results ( my bmw x5 wheel )

I have also modelled this brake caliper. veru hulpfull.
but i can not texture it. i am newbie at texturen ( also modelling ).
some help ?

Texture the caliper or the disc?¿?
For the caliper you only need to take the brembo logo and put it in the material, if you use 3ds max use a blend material, in the mask put the logo with the black color for the part that you don't want to touch the color and the white for the one that you want to change. Then put the normal material in the first one and the color that you want on the logo in the second row.

Put an uvw map with the same ratio than the texture, with this you can make that the texture don't looks bad, and then you only need to adjust on the site that you want.
It's better if you make groups, you can make a group with the 4 polys of the center (the ones that have the brand name) and other group with the rest of polys and then make a multi/subobject with the entire group in a red shader and the other with the blend shader.

There are a lot of good tutorials for learn how to make a car, I made this one cause someone ask how to made a caliper in one post, but in the net you can find a lot of tutorials made by people a lot better than me.
